I had stopped beside Loch Assynt as the weather began to break, watching the light move across Beinn Gharbh and Beinn Reidh on the far shore. A narrow opening in the cloud briefly separated the two mountains, their slopes falling into shadow while the loch retained the remaining light. For a few minutes, the divide between them became the structure of the photograph
