Suilven is one of those mountains whose shape is instantly recognizable, but this photograph came from waiting for the light tosimplify it.

I had been watching the cloud move quickly across Suilven when a brief opening allowed the light to catch the mountain while the surrounding landscape remained in shadow. For a few moments its familiar outline became unusually simple and distinct, separated from its surroundings by light rather than distance.
