Plate 2 from the Sutherland: Light, Shadow and Stone Collection

Location: Ullapool Pier, Wester Ross / Sutherland Border
I spent four hours on the exposed edge of Ullapool Pier at the tail end of Storm Ashley, keeping the camera beneath a plastic bag while waiting for the storm front to fracture. Eventually the heavy rain gave way just long enough for a shaft of northern light to break through the cloud and cross the water.

Particular thanks are due to the people at Deli-ca-sea, who bought coffee out to a cold and increasingly wet photographer four times while he waited for this photograph.
