In August 2025 Pixelle closed down their paper mill in Chillicothe, Ohio. A paper mill had operated on this site for over 100 years.

This closure was a huge financial blow to the town and the surrounding area. It was also the end of a way of life for many people.

Below are a few photographs in memory of the mill, simply known locally as ‘The Mead’ for its original owners.
