Welcome

It’s time to stop simply relying on Facebook so welcome to my new website. Let me introduce myself.

I’m a photographer with over 40 years of experience. I was given my first serious camera (a Zenit E for those who may be interested) at the age of 12 and have never looked back since.

After studying photography at Kitson College in Leeds, West Yorkshire, UK I started my first job in the field in 1983 and have worked extensively with film and digital, from 35mm and equivalent right up to 8”x10” sheet film in a view camera.

These days I work on a semi-professional basis. Photography is my passion, not my main living. This allows me to photograph what I love and on what I do best, rather that concentrating on what brings in the most income. This enables me to always put 100% into the work itself, rather than shooting purely for monetary gain to make a living as was the case earlier in my career.

I hope that my portfolio presented here speaks for itself. There are three things in photography that give me immense satisfaction:

  1. Producing a photograph that I love

  2. When someone else loves my work enough to buy a copy or to commission my work

  3. Passing on my experience to others
